5 de jul. de 2005 · The International Olympic Committee (IOC) today elected London as the host city of the Games of the XXX Olympiad in 2012 during the 117th IOC Session in Singapore. London beat Paris in the final round of voting by 54 votes to 50. This marks the first time that a city will host the Olympic Games for the third time. London hosted the Games in 1908 and 1948.
And now, in accordance with tradition, I declare the Games of the XXX Olympiad closed and call on the youth of the world to assemble four years from now in Rio de Janeiro to celebrate the Games of the XXXI Olympiad.
