Mamie Lincoln. Mary Todd Lincoln’s first grandchild, Mamie Lincoln, was born October 15, 1869. Mary received this photograph of eight-month-old Mamie in June 1870. A note on the back reads, “Miss Lincoln’s compliments to Grandma.” Mary embraced this new family addition and sent many gifts to welcome the baby girl.
