Edith Frank (née Holländer; 16 January 1900 – 6 January 1945) was the mother of Holocaust diarist Anne Frank, and her older sister Margot. After the family were discovered in hiding in Amsterdam during the Nazi occupation, she was transported to Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp .
She was born Annelies Marie Frank on June 12, 1929, in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Her parents were Otto and Edith Frank. For the first 5 years of her life, Anne lived with her parents and older sister, Margot, in an apartment on the outskirts of Frankfurt.

Edith Frank-Holländer was born in Aachen on 16 January 1900 as the youngest of the four children of Abraham Holländer and Rosa, née Stern. She came from a wealthy family: her father owned a scrap metal dealership and several metal recycling operations.
Edith Frank was imprisoned in Auschwitz-Birkenau from 6 September 1944 until her death on 6 January 1945.
