Star Trek is an American science fiction media franchise that started with a television series (simply called Star Trek but now referred to as Star Trek: The Original Series) created by Gene Roddenberry. The series was first broadcast from 1966 to 1969 on NBC. Since then, the Star Trek canon has expanded to include many other series, a film franchise, and other media.
Star Trek Beyond (2016) picks up three years after the second film, where the crew is in the third year of its five-year mission. An encounter with an alien swarm, headed by the mysterious and powerful Krall, has devastating consequences for the Enterprise and crew, and reveals a serious threat to the Federation.
Every series of Star Trek and all of the movies in rough Stardate order. This is the order I would recommend watching them in if you want to work your way through the entire saga. Be sure to only watch the specific seasons mentioned in my notes. For maximum enjoyment, I would recommend saving Enterprise series 1-4 and Discovery until last.
