  5. 1. soul shoutin' 2. serenata 3. gravy waltz 4.deep down soul 5. in the still of the night. tracks in order listed above. earl may on bass grassella oliphant on drums shirley and then hubby stanley. two by turrentine #'s 1 'n 4 are memorable, ( deep down soul is my favorite track on this album ) and gravy waltz are the meat of this order.

  6. 8 de dic. de 2006 · Tracks 7-11('Soul Shoutin'') were recorded in New Jersey on October 15, 1963 with the above personnel but bassist Earl May replacing Major Holley. Scott & Turrentine make a fine team and although there's nothing challenging here, the 73 minutes of jazz are enjoyable, melodic, swinging & soulful.

  7. Soul Shoutin' is a collaboration studio album by organist Shirley Scott recorded in 1963 for Prestige and issued in 1964 as PRLP 7312. It also features her then husband, saxophonist Stanley Turrentine. In 1995, the album was reissued on the same CD along with The Soul Is Willing, featuring a different track order.
