Blount was given a further mark of royal favour when in the autumn of 1530 he was pricked sheriff of Shropshire. He did not survive his term of office, for he died on 27 Feb. 1531, midway through the second session of the Parliament. 9 de jul. de 2022 · 1. Chief John Blount Marker. Inscription. John Blount was the son of William Blount, later a U.S. senator, and a Coushatta woman. While in Florida, he became principal chief of the Apalachee or Apalachicola Indians. During the First Seminole War (1814-1815), he achieved a certain level of distinction by serving as a guide to General Andrew Jackson.
Blount was appointed Lieutenant of Hammes in the Pale of Calais on 6 April 1470. [1] Blount's father died on 1 August 1474, and was buried at the Greyfriars, London. His eldest son and heir, William Blount, had died of wounds received at the Battle of Barnet on 14 April 1471, and William's underage son, Edward, succeeded as 2nd Baron Mountjoy.
In 1374, John Blount gave to "his brother" Walter Blount land from the Mountjoy inheritance. And it should noted that the Blount family was later granted the title of Lord Mountjoy. There is no actual evidence in the way of deeds, charters, grants, or land ownership that Eleanor Beauchamp was the mother of Walter Blount, or that a Blount-Beauchamp marriage even occurred.

The property of John Blount in Deddington (following Colvin, p. 108) consisted of 5 messuages, 300 acres of arable, 16 acres of meadow, 50 acres of pasture and 2 acres of wood in Deddington, Clifton and Hempton.
