30 de jul. de 2022 · All I would add is that its treatment by Martyn Brabbins ranks, in my view, with Sir Andrew Davis's 1991 Teldec recording as one of the finest. Vaughan Williams's instruction to adhere to the 'ppp' marking throughout this movement often goes unheeded, but here the orchestra (BBC Symphony in both cases) manages to do what the composer ordered.
