Erika Mann, hija menor de Thomas Mann, fue escritora, reportera de guerra y actriz. Tras años de dedicación al teatro, al cine y al cabaret en el Múnich de entreguerras, huyó de Alemania en 1935 (fue el último miembro de su familia en hacerlo) y logró salvar buena parte de los papeles de su padre.
