For the eight years between her mother’s accession in 1952 and the birth of Prince Andrew in 1960, she was second—to her older brother, Prince Charles —in the line of succession to the British throne.
Having endured ill health most of her life, Queen Anne died after suffering a stroke on Sunday 1st August 1714 at the age of 49. Queen Anne does not enjoy the same place in history as some other Queens of England, perhaps because she lacked the charisma of Elizabeth I, Mary I and Victoria, yet in her reign great deeds were done.
Anne of Cleves (German: Anna von Kleve; 1515 – 16 July 1557) was Queen of England from 6 January to 12 July 1540 as the fourth wife of King Henry VIII. Not much is known about Anne before 1527, when she became betrothed to Francis, Duke of Bar , son and heir of Antoine, Duke of Lorraine , although their marriage did not proceed.
