He left the Commons for good and entered the House of Lords. He was later described by a biographer as “a sensible, honourable, and industrious public man.” 1. He was the son of George Spencer-Churchill, 6th Duke of Marlborough and Lady Jane Stewart. Education. He was educated between 1834 and 1839 at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.
