12 de dic. de 2006 · If you really take a liking to this period of Sinatra's career, you might move on to the four disc set A VOICE IN TIME, or perhaps even the enormous 12 disc box THE COLUMBIA YEARS 1942-52. This set, however, is the place to start if you do not yet know the early Sinatra.

This "Portrait of Sinatra: Columbia Classics" is excellent! Frank Sinatra is in fine voice and the songs are absolutely beautiful. Most of the songs are from his earlier days, some from his earlier films.
This CD is perfect for those fan who want a full look of Sinatra's musical menu without going through other best of Columbia era CD. Good booklet and great sound. There are other CDs the reader should purchase in case the reader wants to round out the Columbia years. The CDs are Sinatra Sings Cole Porter and Sinatra Sings Rodgers and Hammerstein.
