Johann Joachim Winckelmann (Stendal, 9 de dezembro de 1717 — morreu perto de Trieste, 8 de junho de 1768) foi um historiador de arte e arqueólogo alemão. He settled in Rome , became librarian to Cardinal Alessandro Albani (1692–1779), and established himself as a scholar and antiquarian, advising on the acquisition of the Cardinal's great collection of Antique sculpture (many items of which are now in the Glyptothek , Munich ).
