Christian-Thodor von Pincier was the illegitimate son of Duke Charles of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel and Marie Claire Desmarets. His mother at a later date married later the noble Swedish Pincier von Konigstein.

Following the peace treaty, he became a settler and well-known surveyor in colonial British Quebec.
