Georges Braque ( / brɑːk, bræk / BRA (H)K, French: [ʒɔʁʒ bʁak]; 13 May 1882 – 31 August 1963) was a major 20th-century French painter, collagist, draughtsman, printmaker and sculptor. His most notable contributions were in his alliance with Fauvism from 1905, and the role he played in the development of Cubism.

1 de ene. de 2024 · In 1912, Georges Braque invented papier collé, or the technique known today as collage, utilizing ready pieces of paper, newsprint, wallpaper, and other sources to create a composition. This pushed Cubism into its next phase, known as Synthetic, where the focus was not on breaking the object into its varied viewpoints but on flattening it out to remove any illusion of three-dimensionality.
