Welcome to port regis It is a tremendous honour to be the Head of this wonderful school. Founded in 1881, Port Regis is steeped in history and yet it remains a community that is, at its core, forward thinking and innovative in its approach to educating young children.
Port Regis School is a co-educational preparatory school located in 140 acres of parkland on the Dorset-Wiltshire border in southern England, situated between the towns of Shaftesbury and Gillingham.
Following a two-year stay at Gorhambury House near St Albans, Port Regis moved to it's final home, Motcombe Park, in the winter of 1947 - one of the coldest winters on record in the UK. Port Regis School is now synonymous with our 'Mansion' building, known historically as Motcombe House.

Port Regis is located in 150 acres of parkland and enjoys a beautiful campus with facilities that are second to none in the Prep school world. Extensive woodland with nature trails sits alongside lawns, several ponds and a lake, so that children can enjoy the space and freedom of the grounds.
Many pupils win 13+ scholarships to their senior schools in one or more of these fields, but Port Regis life is about so much more than winning awards: we want all pupils to find a passion here, whatever their level, and we work hard to make sure they are given the opportunities to develop it.
