  4. Keeler passed away on February 28, 1993, from kidney cancer. She was 83 years old. Her death marked the end of an era, the fading of one of the last stars of the early musicals that had helped America dance its way through the Great Depression. Keeler’s legacy, however, remains secure in the annals of film history.
