Jody McCrea. Actor. 5 September 1934 to 3 April 2009. Following in the footsteps of actor father Joel, McCrea had roles in Hell Bent For Glory (1958) and The Restless Years (1958) but is best known for starring in Beach Party (1963) and five other similarly themed tales. Later films include The Glory Stompers (1968) and Cry Blood, Apache (1970).

18 de abr. de 2009 · LOS ANGELES (AP) Jody McCrea, best known for acting in the “Beach Party” movies in the 1960s, died on April 4 in New Mexico, where he had become a cattle rancher. He was 74.
Jody McCrea was an actress who had a successful Hollywood career. McCrea began her acting career with roles in such films as the western "Gunsight Ridge" (1957) with Joel McCrea, "The Monster That Challenged the World" (1957) and the Joel McCrea drama "Trooper Hook" (1957).
Just as strapping (6' 3") and amiably handsome as his actor/father, Joel McCrea, Jody was born Joel Dee McCrea on September 6, 1934 in Los Angeles, California, and bore a strong resemblance to his famous namesake. The oldest of three children, his mother was actress Frances Dee and his two younger brothers are David McCrea and Peter McCrea.
