Born in Chicago on November 21, 1905, Freddie Lindstrom was discovered by the Giants while playing at Loyola Academy while still in high school, and signed at age 16 in 1922. The Giants assigned him to the Toledo Mud Hens of the American Association, and he went 7-for-23 in an 18-game stint that year.
