15 de feb. de 2024 · Anselm may have been a son of John FitzGilbert (The Marshal) and his second wife Sybil de Salisbury. Hardly anything is known about Anselm Marshal. He is mentioned in the Histoire de Guillaume le Marechal as having the standard knightly values of prowess and loyalty, and as taking part in a great tournament at Lagni-sur-Marne in about 1180.

13 de oct. de 2019 · Biography . Nothing is known of Alicia (aka Alice), the woman who married Anselm "Fitz-John" Marshal, of Pembroke, Pembrokeshire, Wales. She is said to have been born around 1154 in Pembroke, Wales although some family genealogies put her birth in Wiltshire, England, where Anselm Marshal's mother, Dame Sybil Marshal, was born.
