The flag’s design, featuring horizontal stripes of red, white, and green, represents the nation’s commitment to freedom, independence, and cultural heritage.
5 de mar. de 2024 · Hungary witnessed a lot of political upheaval in the 20 th century. It was affected by the soviet rule, and a soviet symbol was added to the flag. In 1956, there was an uprising in Hungary and the soviet symbols were dropped from the flag. After the transition to democracy and political reforms, Hungary has not changed its flag.
In 1849-1867, Hungary was under Austrian occupation and the country was divided. In 21 March1919 - 31 July 1919, the Hungarian Soviet Republic used the red flag. In 1949-1956, on the flag there was the Rákosi coat of arms. István Molnár, 25 June 2001. Istvan Molnar reported the Government decree about the national flag of Hungary.

The Hungarian flag in its current form was approved by the parliament in April 1848, but it was still considered a forbidden symbol for the next 19 years. The tricolor Hungarian flag has been officially used in Hungary since 1867, the year of settlement, the year the Austro-Hungarian monarchy was founded.
