Magdalen College. Magdalen College [ˈmɔːdlɪn] ist eines der älteren Colleges der University of Oxford. Gegründet im Jahr 1458, gilt Magdalen noch heute als eines der renommiertesten und schönsten Colleges der Universität. Magdalen College befindet sich am östlichen Rand der Oxforder Innenstadt, am Ufer des River Cherwell.
Magdalen College (pronounced “maudlin”) was founded in 1458 by William Waynflete, Bishop of Winchester. It was one of the largest and wealthiest Colleges in Oxford, supporting many Fellows and scholars, as well as a chapel choir.

Architecture and gardens. The college is located on a 100-acre site that includes beautiful gardens and a deer park, and its buildings are in a striking Gothic and notable neoclassical architectural styles, including the striking Magdalen Tower, which dates back to the 15th century and is one of Oxford’s most recognisable landmarks.
