  4. A little way into Out of Africa someone must have complained and the half of the screen that was out of focus became sharp, the other half becoming slightly hazy. The cinema has long gone. Other than a vague sense that it was boring, that was my main memory of Out of Africa. But, over 35 five years on, I’ve watched it a second time.
