Dancer in the Dark. Dancer in the Dark ( deutsch „Tänzerin im Dunkeln“) ist ein Film von Lars von Trier aus dem Jahr 2000. Der Regisseur, der auch das Drehbuch schrieb, mischt hier den dänischen Dogma-Film mit Stilmitteln US-amerikanischer Musicals der 1950er und 1960er Jahre. Die Hauptrolle spielte die isländische Sängerin Björk .
Lars von Trier heeft gezegd dat Björk niet acteerde, maar "voelde" in de film. Björk voelde hoe Selma's leven was en ging hier in op en aangezien het verhaal van Selma tragisch was, is Björk hier emotioneel door veranderd. The film stars Bjork, the Icelandic pop star, as Selma, a Czech who has emigrated to America, has a small son, works as a punch-press operator, is going blind and is saving her money for an operation to prevent her son from going blind, too.
