Review by RanchoTuVu ★★★★. Glenn Ford plays a Union colonel who returns to his home in Colorado after the Civil War as a hero and is chosen to be a federal judge. The town only sees the hero figure and doesn't perceive that he's ostensibly unstable. What the film suggests is that his instability is connected to his experiences in the war.
