But the most important way that the school gives back to the world is with its unbelievable group of alumni.

Columbia College Chicago offers two degrees in musical theatre: the Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Musical Theatre and the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Musical Theatre Performance. The BFA is a highly structured, rigorous program requiring progressively intense training in musicianship, dance technique, and acting styles.

  4. Roosevelt University was founded in 1945 as an independent, non-sectarian institution. An earlier institution, the Chicago Musical College had been founded in 1867 and in 1954 it merged with Roosevelt University’s School of Music (itself founded in 1945) and since 2000 has been known as the Chicago College of Performing Arts.

  5. In 1954 the Chicago Musical College merged with the then nine-year-old Roosevelt College. The theatre and music programs were joined in 1997. In 2000, we chose the name Chicago College of Performing Arts to reflect the shared strength of our creative disciplines and to capture the greatness of the world-class city that is our home.
