Anne Browne, died 1510, was the daughter of Sir Anthony Browne (1443-November 19, 1506) and his first wife, Eleanor Oughtred (d. before 1500) and was at court as a maid of honor to Elizabeth of York shortly before the queen’s death. She had the misfortune to fall in love with Charles Brandon (1485-1545).

Suggests that 12 of the principal surnames in Tynedale be always kept as pledges, and renewed three times a year. Sir Anthony Ughtred should apply to their maintenance the wages of six or seven soldiers of Berwick, who might thus be spared.
