13 de may. de 2024 · On 28 February 1922, Princess Mary (then 24 years old) married 39-year-old Viscount Henry Lascelles, the future 6th Earl of Harewood. The marriage of King George V ’s only daughter to a member of the British aristocracy — instead of a foreign prince — was extremely popular.

9 de may. de 2024 · In 1922 Princess Mary married Henry Lascelles, (later 6th Earl of Harewood) and in time became the Countess of Harewood. Her long association with Filey started when she began holidaying on The Crescent throughout the 1920s and ‘30s. Her two sons, George and Gerald, became familiar figures during their lengthy holidays in Filey.

He met the 8th Earl of Harewood, David Lascelles, at Harewood House, that was built with the profits made from slavery.
17 de may. de 2024 · The 1919 Birthday Honours were appointments by King George V to various orders and honours to reward and highlight good works by citizens of the British Empire. The appointments were made to celebrate the official birthday of The King, and were published in The London Gazette from 3 June to 12 August.
Hace 5 días · The 'manors' of Ainderby, Thrintoft and Morton formed part of a settlement made by Edward Lascelles in 1800, and the Earl of Harewood still owns a considerable portion of the land, but the manorial rights have fallen into abeyance.
