The principal monument in the north aisle of Henry VII.'s Chapel is that of Queen Elizabeth.
With Cromwell dead and the Protectorate gone, George Monck in turn emerges as a hero of sorts, saving what he could from the wreckage.

To his disappointment, the Dukedom of Albemarle went to Monck, whom Charles also rewarded with the then-enormous pension of £7,000 per year.
