20 de may. de 2024 · James Duff, 2nd Earl Fife built the mausoleum for his family in 1791, possibly on the site of a Carmelite friary. Built before the Gothic Revival, this is an example of "Gothick" architecture. Typically Georgian – the carvings, including the monument to the first Earl, are in Coade stone.
15 de may. de 2024 · Constantine is the first earl of Fife on record, appearing as earl on a charter dated before 1107, and later recorded as great judex in Scotia. His last appearance is c.1128 and was succeeded by Gillemichael, who appears to have held the earldom from about 1128 to about 1136, but whose relationship to Constantine is uncertain.
