27 de may. de 2024 · It was during this period, between 1068 and 1086, that Baldwin Fitzgilbert, a powerful Norman lord, constructed Okehampton Castle as part of his efforts to establish control over the region [1]. The castle‘s strategic location along the route from Devon to Cornwall made it a key stronghold in the Norman defense network.
