22 de jun. de 2024 · By the 16th century, the manor passed to a distant branch of the Radcliffe family. Robert Radcliffe, Lord Fitzwalter, and later the Earl of Sussex, inherited the property. In 1561, the estate was sold to the Assheton family, who leased the manor to tenant farmers.
