It also includes nobles who were vassals of the king but were not based in England (Welsh, Irish, French). Additionally nobles of lesser rank who appear to have been prominent in England at the time.
Hace 6 días · A later owner, 1804–21, was the Earl of Carhampton, who as Colonel Luttrell had opposed Wilkes in the Middlesex election. Burwood Park, the seat of the Misses Askew, was rebuilt before 1809 by Sir John Frederick, bart., M.P. for Surrey, who owned it from 1783 to 1825.
Hace 2 días · She let it to Lady Carhampton, presumably Judith, widow of the 1st earl of Carhampton, but in 1788 it stood empty. (fn. 109) Jane died in 1791, and in 1792, under the terms of her will, both houses were sold.

19 de jun. de 2024 · His nephew and heir to his Irish peerage died in 1782, and Downe Place was then sold to the Earl of Carhampton, who in 1807 sold it to Mr. Harvey Christian Combe. (fn. 8) The estate has since remained in his family.
