27 de may. de 2024 · The second and eldest surviving child of Holy Roman Emperor Charles VI and Elisabeth Christine of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, Archduchess Maria Theresa was born on 13 May 1717 in Vienna, a year after the death of her elder brother, Archduke Leopold Johann, and was baptised on that same evening.

Hace 3 días · Charles VI and Elisabeth Christine of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel had married in 1708. At that time, Charles's elder brother, Joseph, was the Holy Roman Emperor. Joseph died in 1711. He had no son, and so Charles was next in line to the throne.
