Joachim I Nestor (21 February 1484 – 11 July 1535) was a Prince-elector of the Margraviate of Brandenburg (1499–1535), the fifth member of the House of Hohenzollern. His nickname was taken from King Nestor of Greek mythology. Biography
Joaquín Néstor I o Joaquín I Néstor (Cölln, Berlín, Alemania, 21 de febrero de 1484-Stendal, Alemania, 11 de julio de 1535) fue un príncipe elector del territorio de Brandeburgo (1499-1535) y miembro de la Dinastía Hohenzollern.
Joachim I Nestor was the elector of Brandenburg, an opponent of the Habsburg emperors, yet a devout Roman Catholic who prevented the spread of Protestantism in his lands during his lifetime. Joachim at first supported Francis I of France at the imperial election of 1519 and at one point even hoped.
He had at least 4 sons and 4 daughters with Elisabeth van Oldenburg, Electress Consort of Brandenburg, Princess of Denmark, Sweden, Norway. He died on 11 July 1535, in Stendal, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, at the age of 51, and was buried in Mitte, Berlin, Germany.

Elizabeth of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden (24 June 1485 – 10 June 1555) was a Danish princess who became Electress of Brandenburg as the spouse of Joachim I Nestor, Elector of Brandenburg. She was the daughter of King Hans of Denmark, Norway and Sweden and his spouse, Christina of Saxony.
