Hace 2 días · The original Pakenham who was ennobled was, in fact, a woman—Elizabeth Pakenham (née Cuffe), who married Thomas Pakenham in 1740. (There are many men named Thomas in this family, so pay close attention!) Her family could trace back to the first iteration of the title Earl of Longford, which died out in 1706.
