His company produced the twin-engined Mosquito, a high-speed, all-purpose aircraft of plywood construction, and was one of the first to make jet-propelled aircraft, including the Vampire and Venom jet fighters.

Hace 1 día · The de Havilland DH.106 Comet is the world's first commercial jet airliner. Developed and manufactured by de Havilland in the United Kingdom, the Comet 1 prototype first flew in 1949. It features an aerodynamically clean design with four de Havilland Ghost turbojet engines buried in the wing roots, a pressurised cabin, and large windows.

They both introduced their current range of turboprop aircraft in the mid-1980s, at a time when many airlines were looking to replace older propeller aircraft.
