5 de abr. de 2023 · The European Strategy for Universities aims at supporting and enabling universities to adapt to changing conditions, to thrive and to contribute to Europe’s resilience and recovery. It is a call to EU countries and higher education institutions across Europe to join forces.
41 European Universities alliances15 are catalysts for the launch of new instruments and legal frameworks and can inspire the wider higher education community across Europe. By mid-2024, the Commission proposes to focus on achieving the four joint key objectives: SUPPORT UNIVERSITIES AS LIGHTHOUSES OF OUR EUROPEAN WAY OF LIFE:
The European strategy for universities. Europe is home to close to 5,000 higher education institutions, 17.5 million tertiary education students, 1.35 million people teaching in tertiary education and 1.17 million researchers.
The European strategy for universities sets the ambition to support 60 European Universities involving more than 500 higher education institutions by mid-2024. For this, a record €1.1 billion under Erasmus+ is foreseen under the current programming period 2021-2027 to support European Universities.
