Hace 5 días · In 1443, Hailes was the scene of a grim crime when a band of Hepburn retainers murdered the lord of the castle, Sir Adam Hepburn, along with several of his guests. This shocking act, which became known as the "Black Dinner", may have been motivated by a power struggle within the family.
