Hace 2 días · Born on Milk Street in the City of London, on 7 February 1478, Thomas More was the son of Sir John More, a successful lawyer and later a judge, and his wife Agnes (née Graunger). He was the second of six children.

20 de may. de 2024 · His father was a lawyer and judge, and his mother was Agnes Graunger, his father’s first wife (she died, leaving his father a widower). At age twelve, he came under the service of John Morton, the Archbishop of Canterbury and Lord Chancellor of England.

Hace 1 día · Probably the James Ball whose will does not survive, but the probate granted to his widow Agnes on 9 December 1489 is recorded at length (Guildhall MS 9171/8, f. 3v). John Lutt, one of the masters of the parish clerks' fraternity in 1498 and 1510 was a witness of the original will.
