The first stop was at Ampleforth Abbey, a Benedictine Monastery founded in 1802, and linked to a (now) co-educational boarding school, Ampleforth College. It's a long, rambling site on a hillside, with beautiful views.

  7. Hace 5 días · Ampleforth Abbey is home to a community of Benedictine monks, and featured in the exhibition will be artwork from Fr Martin, a former monk of Ampleforth, who died in 2015. Fr Martin was Art Master of Ampleforth College 1947-1981 and an accomplished oil painter who spent his free time painting.
