3 de may. de 2024 · The Gulag Archipelago is a history and memoir of life in the Soviet Union’s prison camp system by Russian novelist Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn. It was first published in Paris in three volumes in 1973–75. It devastated readers outside the Soviet Union with its descriptions of the brutality of the Soviet regime.

Cinquant’anni fa, esattamente il 25 maggio 1974, usciva in Italia, presso Arnoldo Mondadori Editore, Arcipelago Gulag di Aleksandr Solzenicyn. L’autore, Premio Nobel (1970) per la letteratura, era stato espulso da qualche mese dall’Urss, con decreto del Soviet Supremo.
