17 de may. de 2024 · Ginkaku-ji Temple, is called the Silver Pavilion in English, and was built as a villa by the Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimasa (1436 –1490) as a counterpart to his grandfather’s famous Golden Pavilion (Kinkaku-ji Temple) on the other side of the city.

He would host elaborate tea ceremonies here, with the best tea he could find. At the time, tea was being produced around Kyoto, but it was still considered a luxury good.
