Hace 5 días · BARTHOLOMEW DE BADLESMERE was by writ summoned to parliament, in the 3d year of king Edward II. among the barons of this realm, by the title of Bartholomew de Badlesmere, of Badlesmere, chevalier.
Hace 5 días · In an inquisition taken in 1328, Bartholomew de Badlesmere was declared to hold it by service of a pair of gilt spurs yearly. Ten years later his son Giles held of the same fee by service of a halfpenny, and it was thus held in 1367 and 1372 by John de Tiptot and his son Robert respectively.

11 de may. de 2024 · Giles de Badlesmere, 2nd Baron Badlesmere (18 October 1314 – May 1338) was an English nobleman, the son and heir of Bartholomew de Badlesmere, 1st Baron Badlesmere by Margaret de Clare of Inchinquin and Youghal. In 1328, he obtained a reversal of his father's attainder and inherited his barony.

8 de may. de 2024 · In 1315/16 he was a commander in Wales, and in Jul 1316 was at Bristol to settle the dispute between Sir Bartholomew de Badlesmere and the burgesses. In Jun 1317, the King granted him the manors of Gravesend in Kent and Kingsbury in Somerset, and on 26 Sep he had a grant of free warren in Saxlingham, Norfolk, and other of his manors.

Bartholomew's wife, Margaret, took the bait and her men killed several of Isabella's retinue, giving Edward an excuse to intervene.
