Hace 1 día · The Hague originated around the 13th century Binnenhof, and this is still considered the cultural centre of the city. Nightlife centres around the three main squares in the city centre. The Plein (literally "Square") is taken by several large sidewalk cafés where often politicians may be spotted.
Hace 5 días · South of the Binnenhof is the Buitenhof, a centre of the town’s activities and the site of several hotels and restaurants. The original entrance to it was the Gevangenpoort (Prisoner’s Gate), a tower and gate built about 1400. It is now a museum dedicated to the history of punishment and torture in the Netherlands.

21 de may. de 2024 · Built in 1446, it’s also known as Het Binnenhof. Visiting the site is an adventure because it is a tour of beautiful architecture and a lesson in Dutch history and politics. For ages, the Binnenhof structure has served as the country’s political nerve center, and it still does today.
