Este grupo de paisajistas hizo de Barbizon y del Bosque Fountainebleau el escenario perfecto para desarrollar la pintura al natural, ya no se bocetaba para luego pintar en el estudio, sino que se comenzaba y terminaba la obra en “plein air”, al aire libre.
