Hace 3 días · Charles Martin (10 November 1433 – 5 January 1477) called The Bold, was the last Duke of Burgundy from the Burgundian cadet branch of House of Valois from 1467 to 1477. He was the only legitimate son of Philip the Good and his third wife, Isabella of Portugal.

The streets of Brussels were decked out on September 5, 1599, for the Joyeuse Entrée, the ceremonial royal entry into the city of Archdukes Isabella and Albert, the new rulers of the Habsburg Netherlands. Crowds cheered them on their way to the Coudenberg Palace, for great expectations were placed on the newlywed couple.
Hace 5 días · The residence, known as the Coudenberg Palace, was the seat of counts, dukes, regents, kings and emperors. It was the pride of Brussels until it was consumed in a blaze that, according to one account, was sparked by a lazy chef who let his jam overheat and catch fire.
