It was remote from the other states and was not on particularly good terms with its closest neighbor, the Principality of Antioch.

7 de may. de 2024 · In 1238, Afonso married Countess Matilda II of Boulogne. That gave him the title of Count of Boulogne. Afonso II had come into conflict with the Catholic Church. That conflict escalated to the point that the pope had excommunicated King Afonso, and the king had then died.
