Hace 4 días · It does not appear that Ann, Countess of Warwick, widow of the Kingmaker, obtained actual possession; though for a short time she appears, from what follows, to have been Lady of Glamorgan de jure. 2 March 1 Hen. VII. (1486) the King granted ( inter alia ) "the castles, lordships and manors of Glamorgan and Morgannok" to Jasper, Duke of Bedford.

The Countess, who was still alive, was technically the owner of the substantial Beauchamp estates, her father having left no male heirs.

Hace 5 días · The manor appears to have been restored to Margaret, Countess of Salisbury, only sister of Edward, Earl of Warwick (d. 1499), for after her execution in 1541 it was in the king's hands as part of her lands. In 1544 the king granted it to Sir Richard Higham, who then conveyed it to Sir Richard Rich, later first Baron Rich.
