David Bowes Lyon, asked de László to paint portraits of their parents to mark their golden wedding anniversary and when the Duchess accompanied her mother to his studio, the artist seized the opportunity to ask her if he could portray her again.

13 de may. de 2024 · However, this storyline has been refuted by David Bowes-Lyon, a relative of the Bowes-Lyon sisters. He claims that the portrayal is a “complete fantasy” and that Princess Margaret was well aware of Nerissa and Katherine’s existence and their circumstances.
There was an extra reason for Claude Bowes-Lyon to get a peerage as well: members of the Peerage of Scotland did not automatically sit in the House of Lords, but sent Representative peers instead. This way he could sit in the House of Lords as an Earl.
