28 de may. de 2024 · Dead Man Walking. 사형 집행을 직감한 사형수 가 형장으로 이동하는 것, 그 걸음걸이와 시간을 뜻하는 영어 단어. 직역하면 죽은 자의 걸음. 확정적으로 곧 죽을 운명이라는 것을 이미 죽은 자라고 은유하는 것이다. 사형수가 사형 으로 죽기 직전 자신을 고찰하며 생각할 수 있는 유일한 시간이다. 그러므로 사형 을 주제로 하는 가상 매체에는 이 장면이 한 번 정도는 포함되기 마련이다. 다른 의미로 직장의 해고 예정자라는 뜻으로도 쓰이며, 정치에선 선거에서 크게 패배해 위기를 맞은 정치 지도자의 운명 을 표현할 때 쓰이기도 한다. 어느 의미로든 자주 쓰이는 표현은 아니다.
